Smarter Education Seminar

We brought Google CS First, the free computer science curriculum, to Hong Kong in 2016. Together with schools and NGOs, we have continued to promote coding education and computer sciences in our city. On Saturday, May 4, 2019, we will celebrate the achievements of Hong Kong students and teachers in embracing coding education here in Hong Kong.

STEM education (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) has been one of the most discussed topics in the education field. It is also the key to nurture digital talent, hence transform Hong Kong into a Smarter Digital City. During the event, we will discuss how the various stakeholders, including the government, educators, parents and the tech industry, might work together and create a “Smarter Education” environment for Hong Kong; and why Computer Science education and training on computational thinking are important to students.

We are inviting policymakers, educators, parents, and experts in the field to join this open forum. Let’s shape Hong Kong’s future education together!

Google CS First 香港智慧教育研討會

自 2016 年，我們將 Google CS First 這個電腦科學課程帶到香港，我們與學校及非政府組織攜手透過這個免費課程，一起在香港推廣編程學習和電腦科學。而在 2019年5月4日（星期六），我們會與本地學生們和老師們見證他們在編程學習和教育上的努力。

STEM 即指科學 (Science)、科技 (Technology)、工程 (Engineering) 及數學 (Mathematics) 教育，一直是香港教育界的熱門話題，也是培養新一代科技人才的關鍵。智慧教育和人才有助釋放本地數碼潛能，推動香港成為智慧城市。然而，政府、教育工作者、家長和科技業界應如何合作為香港創造「智慧教育」的環境呢？為甚麼電腦科學教育和運算思維培訓對學生至為重要呢？

我們將邀請政策制定者、教育工作者、家長和專家參與論壇，一同討論香港教育的未來發展路向。
