The summit will primarily be hosted via YouTube Livestream. If you lose connection, you can join again directly through the livestream link posted to the event site. Please do not forward or send viewing links to others.

If you are a confirmed registered guest, access viewing links on the Join Event page.

There are 2 Interactive sessions that will not be livestreamed, but hosted via Google Meet.

  • Interactive: Deep Dive Sessions - PhD Fellows will be sent a calendar invitation to the Google account provided at registration to join the session. Google Meet join links for your session will also be made available on the Join Event page.
  • Interactive: Poster Discussion - Join via the Google Meet link on the Join Event page using your Google account.

 

This Dory link is available here and on the event site where participants can enter their questions before or during each Q&A session.

Your questions should be entered by the Topic (Session). You are also encouraged to view other questions and upvote questions that are of interest to you.

For external participants, your Google account provided at registration has been added to the Dory to enable participation. If you have trouble accessing the Dory, email phdfellowshipsummit@google.com or ping the support chat group during the summit.  

For PhD Fellows presenting at the virtual poster session, your slides should be formated in Google slides (16:9). Give phdfellowshipsummit2020@google.com edit rights and send your final deck by July 22.

All confirmed guests will be added to a group chat with the Google account provided at registration. Support staff will be in the group chat to respond to any issues you are having.

If you cannot access the group chat, email phdfellowshipsummit2020@google.com.

The group chat will allow all confirmed guests to reach out with questions regarding the overall event, including any technical difficulties. You should receive notification that you have been added to the group chat by 7/29/20. This chat will be supported by staff who can respond to any questions/issues you may have. 

The group chat will be created off of the Google Chat.  If you would like, you can install the Google Chat application on any mobile device, tablet or computer to avoid using multiple windows.

To enable captions in YouTube Livestream, hover over the video progress bar. On the right side you will see the CC symbol in a box located next to the setting symbol. Simply click on the CC symbol to enable.

To enable captions in Google Meet, click on the three dots menu in the lower right corner and choose “Turn on captions” next to the CC symbol.  

To implement tile change layout in Meet: click the More icon (three dots) in bottom right corner of the screen and then click Change Layout. (View as many as 16 participants at once).
