AI Impact Challenge Summit
The Google AI Impact Challenge Summit brought together AI for social good practitioners, Google AI experts, and tech and social sector leaders to discuss how they’re using AI to solve societal challenges. This engaging day delved into key topics such as responsibility, data collection, and cross-sector partnerships to translate AI development to real world impact.
The summit was a part of the greater Google AI Impact Challenge, a program that started when Google put out an open call for organizations around the world to submit their ideas on how AI could help address societal challenges. Out of more than 2,600 proposals from 119 countries, we selected 20 organizations to support with a total of $25M in grant funding from Google.org, coaching from Google’s AI experts, credit and consulting from Google Cloud, and inclusion in a nine-month Google Developers Launchpad Accelerator program.
The Google AI Impact Challenge Summit brought together these innovative teams alongside invited experts from tech and the social sector for an interactive day of learning and candid dialogue. We heard from the grantees about their impact and learnings and engage on key topics such as responsible development, data collection, and cross-sector partnerships to translate AI development to real world impact. Complete with panel discussions, project presentations, and a networking happy hour, this summit was built to optimize idea sharing.
