Morning Keynote: Jaime Casap, Chief Education Evangelist
Jaime Casap is the Chief Education Evangelist at Google. Jaime evangelizes the power and potential of the web, technology, and Google tools as enabling and supporting capabilities in pursuit of fostering inquiry-driven project-based learning models. Jaime collaborates with educational organizations and leaders building innovation and iteration into our education practices. He speaks on the subject of technology, education, and innovation at events around the world.
In addition to his role at Google, Jaime serves on a number of Boards, including the Arizona Science Foundation and Inquire Schools. He serves as an advisor to dozens of organizations focused on education, technology, and equity. Jaime is also an adjunct professor at Arizona State University, where he teaches classes on policy, innovation, and leadership.

Afternoon Keynote: Philip D. Lanoue
Philip D. Lanoue, Ph.D. has a demonstrated record in leading school transformation at the building and district levels. Dr. Lanoue is the 2015 American Association of School Administrators (AASA) National Superintendent of the Year, as well as the 2015 Georgia Superintendent of the Year. Before serving at the superintendency level across two systems, Dr. Lanoue was a high school principal in Vermont, leading four schools toward excellence. While principal of Burlington High School in Vermont, he was named the Vermont National Association of School Principals, Principal of the Year. Prior to entering administration, Dr. Lanoue was a high school biology teacher.
Dr. Lanoue was named as one of the nation’s top 50 educational innovators in digital learning by Converge magazine. Dr. Lanoue has been recognized by numerous organizations at the state and national levels including commendations from the Georgia Senate and House of Representatives. In 2015, the University Council of Educational Administration honored Dr. Lanoue for his contributions for the preparation of educational leaders when he received the Excellence in Educational Leadership Award. The University of Georgia recognized his work in supervision and evaluation when Dr. Lanoue was awarded the Johnnye V. Cox Award. In addition, he was a leading contributor in designing one of the nation’s top Professional Development School Districts, a partnership between the University of Georgia College of Education and the Clarke County School District.
Dr. Lanoue continues to serve as a voice advocating for public education and the children. He has served on the White House Policy Advisory for the New Generation High School Summit, the ConnectED Future Ready White House Summit, the Advisory Council for the Georgia School Boards Association, and a member of Georgia’s AdvancED Council.
Dr. Lanoue’s advocacy continues as a well-known speaker on the importance of public education and effective leadership practices. He has keynoted for the Positive Youth Development Institute, the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents Leadership Academy, the Alabama Association of School Boards, the Annual conference of Network for Public Education, the National Meeting of Statewide Afterschool Networks, and the American Association of School Administrators.
Dr. Lanoue regularly adds to the public discourse about education, leadership, and the future of children through his blogs, his guest columns, and webinars. Dr. Lanoue writes a monthly blog for TrustED, Course Correction, and his blogs have appeared in the Washington Post as part of Valerie Strauss’ weekly column. He was named one of the top educational voices (authors, writers, speakers, and experts) who are keeping K-12 issues in the national dialogue.
Dr. Lanoue has co-authored refereed journal articles in both scholarly and practitioner journals including School Leadership & Management, LEARNing, and Educational Leadership. He has also co-authored chapters in edited books including the forthcoming, Handbook of Educational Supervision (Wiley & Blackwell). He released his new book written in collaboration with Dr. Sally Zepeda entitled The Emerging Work of Today's Superintendent: Leading Schools and Communities to Educate All Children in June of 2018.
In 2017, Dr. Lanoue founded PDL Consultants to focus his efforts on leadership development and capacity building in PreK-12 school systems. In this capacity, he works with school systems, governmental agencies, and professional associations in their efforts to reform education and the work that needs to be accomplished on behalf of students.
