FAQs

Where is this event being held?

Events for both evenings will be held at the LAB Miami. Exact location details will be sent in the confirmation email you'll receive prior to the event.

Is transportation to the event available?

You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the events. Other options include taking cabs, Uber, Lyft, or using Spothero (parking spot finder app). Please note that this event is intended for participants local to the Miami area. Participants outside of that area may apply and attend but would be responsible for any travel and accommodation costs.

What time does the program run?

Registration both evenings will begin at 5:00pm, allowing time for check-in, bites, and beverages. Program content will begin at 6:00pm and end around 9:30pm each night.

What if I can only attend one of the evenings?

We still welcome you to apply to the program! We prefer that you attend both evenings and will prioritize applicants accordingly.

Can I bring a friend or attend on a walk-in basis?

Please note that we tend to reach capacity with pre-registered applicants for events. If you are a confirmed attendee, you will receive additional information on how to refer a friend to attend the event, should space become available.

What happens if I am waitlisted?

Applicants who are waitlisted will be admitted on a space-available basis. If you are waitlisted, you are not guaranteed a seat for the event(s).

I am a student. Can I apply?

Yes! While this program is geared towards working professionals, we welcome your application and participation.

Do I need to be a member of one of Google's partner organizations to apply for this program?

Absolutely not! We welcome anyone to apply!

When are applications due for this program and when will we be notified?

Complete our short application form by Wednesday January 31 at 11:59pm PT (the application will open on Tuesday, January 16 at 9:00am PT). Applicants will receive an update on their acceptance status no later than Wednesday, February 7.

What do I need to bring to the event?

You're welcome to bring a notebook or laptop for notes if you would like, but this is not required.

Is dinner provided?

We will be providing light tapas and beverages on both evenings.

What attire is recommended?

We are casual at Google, so please wear whatever you are most comfortable in. We find that many people dress in business casual for Google events.

What if I am a nursing mother?

A mother’s room and access to a fridge will be available for use.

What if I need space for prayer during the event?

There will be dedicated space at the LAB Miami for prayer, which can be used as needed throughout the event.

I heard The LAB Miami is a dog-friendly venue. Should I expect dogs at this event?

While Google is a dog-friendly company, our four-legged friends are not invited to this event. However, you may see dogs at The LAB Miami from members in the venue’s coworking space.

Is this a diversity event?

While the Sandbox series has a dedicated focus on engaging historically underrepresented groups in the tech industry, the event and application are open to everyone with sales and strategy (e.g. consulting) experience in the Miami metro area.
