Frequently Asked Questions

Are you already registered or considering attending a Grow with Google Alabama event? Here’s what you should know before joining us.

Grow with Google is an initiative that draws on our 20-year history of building products, platforms, and services that help people and businesses grow. Through Grow with Google, we aim to help everyone across America – those who make up the workforce of today and the students who will drive the workforce of tomorrow – access the best of Google’s training and tools to grow their skills, careers, and businesses.

Google is committed to helping Alabamians thrive in the digital economy. In 2017, Google helped provide $703 million of economic activity for Alabama businesses, website publishers, and nonprofits. And this past April, we broke ground on a new data center in Jackson County.

Now, Grow with Google is excited to support AL small businesses and jobseekers by offering free, in-person digital skills workshops and coaching. We know that middle-skill jobs account for 59 percent of Alabama’s labor market, but only 47 percent of the state’s workers are trained to the middle-skill level (source). We want to do our part to help equip workers and businesses with the digital skills they need to compete in the economy of today and tomorrow. We’re also providing train-the-trainer resources to local leaders -- including library, nonprofit and education professionals -- who can bring these free resources and tools to their community.
