Frequently Asked Questions

Are you already registered or considering attending a Grow with Google Connecticut event? Here’s what you should know before joining us.

Grow with Google is an initiative that draws on our 20-year history of building products, platforms, and services that help people and businesses grow. Through Grow with Google, we aim to help everyone across America – those who make up the workforce of today and the students who will drive the workforce of tomorrow – access the best of Google’s training and tools to grow their skills, careers, and businesses.

We are proud that in 2017, 14,000 Connecticut businesses, website publishers, and nonprofits benefitted from Google tools and that we helped provide $4.13 billion of economic activity for Connecticut organizations (source). And we know that for many small businesses, learning how to harness the Internet can help them grow their business. According to the National Skills Coalition, middle-skills jobs account for 48% of all jobs in Connecticut but only 38% of state workers are trained to the middle-skill level. We’re excited to partner with terrific libraries and community organizations throughout the state to help Connecticut job seekers and small businesses learn digital skills.

We'll have three events in Connecticut during the week of February 11th.

Hartford: Monday, February 11
New Haven: Wednesday, February 13
New London: Friday, February 15

Our three events will be held in the following locations:

Hartford:
Hartford Public Library
Albany Library
1250 Albany Avenue
Hartford, CT 06112

New Haven:
New Haven Free Public Library
133 Elm Street
New Haven, CT 06510

New London:
Public Library of New London
63 Huntington St.
New London, CT 06320

That’s right, there is no cost to attend a Grow with Google Connecticut event.

Yes, there is parking available at each event.

Hartford: Complimentary parking is available in the parking lot behind the library off of Blue Hills Avenue.
New Haven: Unfortunately, complimentary parking will not be available for the event. However, there is plenty of 2-hour metered street parking on Elm, Grove, College or Temple Streets.
New London: Complimentary parking is available in the small parking lot located behind the library off of Huntington Street. Attendees can also utilize street parking.

You’ll want to bring something to take notes with -- a laptop (we’ll have free wifi) or a pen & paper are recommended so you don’t miss any information. Also consider bringing a light sweater or jacket just in case.

You can register for the events here.

Unfortunately, this means the workshop is at capacity and we’re unable to take any additional guests for that workshop. Although it’s unlikely, if we do happen to have extra space on event day, we will create a stand-by line and admit guests on a first-come, first-served basis. We'll do our best to let you in, but it is not guaranteed. If you aren't able to pre-register for a certain workshop, we encourage you to check out our online resources at google.com/grow.

In order to accommodate as many people as possible, please only sign up for one workshop. You'll only be able to pick one of the workshops in each location.
