Lisbon, June 3rd

On June 3rd, in partnership with Beta-i, we will be holding a Google Launchpad Summit, a special session for Android developers.

Google Launchpad Summit is a free program for training technical teams in the integration, tools and best practices of Material Design & App Indexing, two of the Google technologies impacting on the experience of Android mobile apps.

Google Launchpad Summit

Android mobile apps provide digital experiences for million of users on shopping, traveling, banking, gaming and many more online services. Design around Android’s capabilities and conventions[ref] gives users the best experience and best experiences means better conversion, higher engagement and higher LTV. In this program we will consider only Material Design & App Indexing.

Material Design[ref] is a design metaphor inspired by paper and ink that provides a reassuring sense of tactility. Available in Android 5.0 (API level 21) and above, to use material design in Android apps, the guidelines defined in the material design specification show the use of the new components and functionality. In addition, Material for Developers[ref] contains extra information for technical teams.

App Indexing[ref] puts your app in front of users who use Google Search. It works by indexing the URL patterns you provide in your app manifest and using API calls from your app to make content within your Android and iOS apps available to both existing and new users.

Therefore both Material Design & App Indexing improve digital experience of users, contributing positively to better conversion, higher engagement and higher LTV. App Indexing improves also app store optimization (ASO), contributing positively to bigger customer base.
