Prior to Google, she was Commercial Director/Founder of Irish Life Health and Group Marketing Director for Aviva Ireland. Passionate about consumer insights and helping Retailers succeed, she has won numerous Industry Awards including Marketer of the Year, Marketing team of the year and Marketing Campaigns of the year.


Paul Brett
Shopping Specialist, Google UK

Paul joined Google almost 5 years ago and is one our most Senior Shopping Specialists, based in our European headquarters in Dublin. Paul works with a number of our Top UK retailers consulting and advising on Shopping strategy. He leads a number of Shopping initiatives across our UK business and works in close partnership with our Global product teams.
Prior to joining Google, Paul began his career in Stockbroking and spent 9 years in the world of finance working for a number of Irish and International banks. He holds a degree in business and a Masters in E-commerce from Smurfit Business School.

Robert is Managing Director with Accenture Strategy, based in Hong Kong. He has almost 20 years of consulting experience serving clients across consumer products, retail, travel, hospitality, and consumer electronics industries. He advises clients on topics such as growth strategy, innovation, organization design, customer strategy, and digital transformation. Prior to joining Accenture, Robert was Managing Partner for Deloitte Consulting, leading the Greater China Consumer Business practice. Robert received his MBA from Cornell University and BA (Honors) from Northwestern University. He is a frequent speaker at international business conferences and is frequently cited in global news publications.

Aisling is an experienced Retail Leader at Google, currently managing Account Management teams that service some of our largest Retailers in the UK, building on a career as a Senior Account Manager for large brands in Retail and Technology. Aisling previously led Google Shopping strategies for both the UK and across Europe, and presented on this topic at the 2016 event. She continues to be passionate about Google Shopping, but more recently has increased her attention on ensuring that we connect our Retailers with the relevant automation and audience solutions to engage their target consumer, and is looking forward to partnering with some of our best technical audience Specialists to talk to you about the best in class strategies to employ at the 2018 event.

Melaine Schlegel

Melanie Schlegel, born in 1978 and raised in northern Germany, very close to the Baltic Sea, has been following her great passion for online marketing since 2005. After completing her diploma in sociology, Ms. Schlegel has been responsible for strategic and operational SEA campaigns for numerous companies from 2005 to 2008 at eprofessional, a Hamburg-based performance agency. As a next step she was responsible for SEA at PARSHIP in 14 countries and for Gay PARSHIP from mid-2008 to mid-2011. After that, as Head of Business Development at pilot GmbH, Ms. Schlegel was responsible for holistic and comprehensive online marketing strategies for new customers, as well as for the development of existing customers. Since July 2014, Ms Schlegel is responsible for paid search at OTTO in Hamburg.

In this role, his goal is to educate, activate and create value for all parties striving to dive into the exciting new Age of Assistance. Before joining Google, Alex worked as a project manager with OC&C Strategy Consultants, focusing mainly on Retail, CPG and media clients. Alex earned his PhD degree on Digital Pricing Strategy, publishing in top-ranked academic journals such as Strategic Management Journal and Journal of Business Research. Next to working at Google, Alex has published three Voice Apps himself to date.


Alison Lomax

Alison is a digital veteran having started in the days of dial-up Internet, working for government departments, M15 and Foreign Office, before moving to the advertising world. Whilst at Tribal DDB, she was Head of Media on Volkswagen’s digital brand strategy as well as launching The National Lottery business on the Internet, mobile and interactive TV. She was then Head of Digital Client Services at Beattie McGuinness Bungay before joining Google 6 years ago. Alison has a varied career at Google, having led the Creative agency team, the Brand solutions team and now leads the Lifestyle Retail sector. Alison is a proud feminist, a member of WACL (Women in Advertising & Communications London) and married to Jim, a film Producer with two highly spirited daughters, Livy (12) and Freya (8).
