Who's attending Camp Trailblazers?

Camp Trailblazers brings together a community of leaders from around the world that are passionate about supporting and growing entrepreneurship in their ecosystems. Attendees include two representatives from each of the 50 partner organizations in the Google for Entrepreneurs Partner Network, the Google for Entrepreneurs team, and Google employees that are involved with supporting entrepreneurs.

How do I coordinate my flight/travel to the summit?

Attendees are responsible for booking and covering the cost of travel to and from the summit.

 What will the weather be like in September?

San Francisco perfers to start it's summer weather in mid-September. The weather tends to be sunny with temperatures between 65F-75F/18C-24C. The weather forecast for San Francisco can be found here.

The weather will be a few degrees warmer in Santa Rosa, where Camp Trailblazers is located, and the temperature will be between 75F-80F/24C-26C. The weather forecast for Santa Rosa can be found here.

We recommend bringing a light jacket because the temperature drops at night and it can get windy.

 What do I need to pack?

We'll be enjoying the great outdoors, so we recommend wearing what you'd wear for a long walk or an active day in the park. Please bring the following items:

Comfortable closed-toe outdoor shoes
Hat for sun protection
Light jacket or fleece
Water bottle
Sunglasses
Swimsuit
Hair dryer
Toiletries, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, prescription medicine, etc.

Google for Entrepreneurs will provide towels, linens, sunscreen, and insect repellent.

How do I get around during the summit?

Attendees are responsible for getting to the hotel from the airport. We recommend a cab or a Uber/Lyft to get from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Oakland International Airport (OAK).

We will be providing shuttle service to transport attendees from the hotel to Camp Trailblazers on September 12th, and from Camp Trailblazers to the hotel on September 13th.

How do I get to/from the airport?

Attendees will need to coordinate transportation to and from the airport.There are a variety of transportation options once on-the-ground at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Oakland International Airport (OAK).

Taxi - There will be plenty of available taxis at the airport. Depending on traffic the estimated taxi fare from SFO to the hotel is $55 - $90 USD, the estimated taxi fare from OAK to the hotel is $79 - $118 USD. A suggestion for a local cab company is Bay Area Yellow Cab: (408) 412-3100.

Uber/Lyft - After you exit the terminal, you can request an Uber/Lyft ride at your specific location. Uber/Lyft requests should be made on the departures level at SFO.

BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) - BART is a public rail​ transportation system serving the San Francisco Bay Area. ​A roundtrip to/from the airport will cost approximately $20-25 and takes about an hour each way.

If I’m not staying at the hotel, where do I pick up my welcome packet and badge?

If you are not staying at the hotel, you will pick up your welcome packet and name badge on the bus to Camp Trailblazers on Tuesday morning, September 12th. 

Can I drive myself to Camp Trailblazers on Tuesday, September 12th?

We're asking all attendees to arrive at Camp Trailblazers via the busses departing the Hyatt Centric on the morning on September 12th. If there is an emergency while you're at camp that requires you to leave early, we will coordinate transportation to your destination.

Will there be wifi and cell service at Camp Trailblazers?

There is limited wifi and cell service at Camp Trailblazers, including the cabins. We know that it's important to be able to connect with your family and team while you're at Camp Trailblazers, and we'll have dedicated resources for urgent situations. We'll have more information on wifi accessiblity closer to the event date.

What are the rooming accommodations like at Camp Trailblazers?

Attendees will be assigned a bed in an eco-friendly cabin, outfitted with air conditioning, lighting, electricity, storage, and a balcony. Each cabin hosts up to four attendees and is separated by a sliding divider that can be opened to become one large cabin with your neighbors.

Who are my roommates?

Each cabin accommodates four people of the same gender. You can request a specific roommate or roommates in the registration form. We'll be sure to mix things up and pair you throughout the event with friends new and old. Don't worry if you don't have a specific roommate in mind; we'll assign you to an excellent cabin!

What are the conditions like at Camp Trailblazers? Will we be roughing it?

This will be more of "glamping" and retreat experience, than a survival adventure with Bear Grylls. We'll have staff and amenities on-hand to make sure you're comfortable and relaxed.
