We would like to invite you to the Urban Mobility Simulation and Optimization workshop.

Urban mobility has witnessed disruptive changes in the last decade. Mobility services are increasingly on-demand, shared, multimodal, automated, and sustainable. The marketplace innovations combine offerings from the public sector, the private sector, and the users themselves (e.g., peer-to-peer services). Integrated mobility systems that balance and create synergies between the movement of goods and the movement of travelers are emerging. First-mile and last-mile delivery solutions are shaping the way we travel (e.g., drones are merging air and road transportation services). This has led to innovations in the modeling and stochastic simulation of urban mobility systems. This has also led to new optimization problem formulations, including challenging high-dimensional, continuous or discrete, offline or real-time, big or small data regime, stochastic simulation-based optimization problems.

This workshop brings together experts in the field of urban transportation (e.g., traffic operations, supply chain and logistics, travel demand modeling), optimization and machine learning (e.g., mathematical programming, simulation-based optimization, reinforcement learning, Bayesian optimization, black-box optimization, derivative-free optimization, sample-efficient ML, small data ML) to discuss how the combination of ideas from these fields can help design the next generation of efficient, sustainable, and globally scalable mobility services.
