According to research commissioned by Jigsaw, 85% of women have experienced or witnessed online violence, and 50% of women impacted by online violence fear for their physical safety as well.

Women Techmakers, in partnership with Jigsaw, launched the Women’s Online Safety Program in February 2020 as a key commitment from Google to contribute to women thriving online. In 2021, over 2,000 women and allies representing over 50 countries participated in the 13 hackathons and trainings our community hosted. During the hackathons, women and allies worked together on innovative solutions to the challenges of women's online safety, and over 100 solutions were created.

We know that women won’t be online if they’re not safe online. We host 90-minute online safety trainings and hackathons for women and allies across the globe.
