Can you problem-solve your way out of Everest Base Camp? Can you use data and your community to unlock big problems? Can you come up with ways to remove plastic from the ocean?

Join educators and school leaders from all across Tennessee to experience a new, immersive event from the Google for Education team: The Anywhere School. This is a hands-on, project-based learning demo that will put you in a transformative, yet functional, class environment. You will go on a journey across cultures and continents using Google and third-party tools to enable exploration and solve problems.

This event is for Superintendents/Central Office Administrators, Curriculum & Instruction Administrators, Campus Principals, Technology Directors, Teachers

Limited to 4 attendees per district. This is a free event.

Agenda

9:00 AM: Check in & Breakfast

10:00 AM: Intro to The Anywhere School

10:30 AM: Instruction Hub: In this section, we will set the stage for the challenge ahead: “How might we reduce plastic in our oceans?” We will identify the problems and key facts about pollution in our oceans.

11:15 AM: Research Lab: In this section, we will dissect the problem and dig deeper to get the full picture. We will develop our research skills and collaborate with experts and with our peers.

12:00 PM: Lunch

1:00 PM: Creative Lab: In this section, we will take everything we learned during instruction and research, and explore possible creative solutions to the plastic problem.
