Johnny Bailey is a Social Entrepreneur and Digital Marketing Strategist with over 10 years of entrepreneurial experience.
As Executive Director of The ShineHard Foundation, a DC based nonprofit with a mission to close the racial wealth gap, Johnny leverages relationships to provide career visibility, collaborative economics, and transfer financial knowledge from one generation to the next. He also hosts a YouTube series titled, ShineHard Conversations, featuring minority entrepreneurs, politicos, and corporate innovators from companies like ESPN, Google, Nike, Amazon, Forbes, CNN, & more.
Prior to ShineHard Foundation, Johnny began his career in client services for NFL sports agency, Paramount Sports & Entertainment. Primarily focused on community initiatives, database management and recruiting, Johnny helped the firm acquire and retain clients through digital marketing efforts.
Following the agency, Johnny worked as a brand manager for Nike Inc. Kick starting his career as a tour manager for the Nike ID hoops tour. A nationwide grassroots campaign with the objective to foster key relationships with top ranked programs around the country. Johnny worked hands on with blue chip athletes, many of which, went on to enter the NBA. Johnny also spent time focused on consumer engagement during sport moments like Super Bowl, NBA All Star, and World Basketball Festival.
A native of Petersburg, Virginia, Johnny is a decorated four sport high school athlete, winning two state championships in T&F and recently inducted into his HS Hall of Fame. Johnny graduated from Hampton University and earned a Master’s Degree in Marketing from VSU. Johnny has been recognized by the Washington Wizards, TV One, Aspire TV, Blavity, HBCU Buzz, NBT Talks and others, as a cultural leader and connector in the DC community.
