I’m from a country not eligible to enter. Can I still submit?
Unfortunately we can’t consider your submission if the contest isn't available in your country as you wouldn't meet the eligibility criteria set out in the Terms and Conditions of the contest.
I'm from an eligible country but my publisher is not. Can I still submit?
You - as the developer of the game - are the one who needs to enter and you are the one who needs to be based in one of the eligible countries and meet the eligibility criteria.
I am under 18 years old. Can I enter the contest?
Unfortunately you have to be at least 18 years old at the time of entering the contest to be eligible.
Do I need to have employee's to enter the contest?
No, you can be an individual. Or if you are a business you must not have more than 30 full time employee's and must not be a publicly listed company.
I entered the contest last year. Am I allowed to enter this year?
Yes, you're welcome to enter again as long as you meet all the eligibility criteria, including having developed and published a new game on Google Play in 2017.
If I enter now, will I be able to edit my submission later?
You can edit your submission until 18:00 GMT on 31 December 2017.
Can I submit more than one game?
Yes, there is no submissions limit per developer. You will however need to submit each game separately.
When will you start trying out the games that were submitted?
We will start reviewing submissions as soon as we get them, however you have until the end of the submission period to make sure your game is in top shape and free of bugs; any updates to the game(s) after the submission period ended on 31 December, 18:00 GMT will not be considered.
I submitted a game. When will I know if I’ve been shortlisted?
We will announce the finalists in the second half of January. You’ll receive an email about it; make sure to also follow our Google Play Developer social channels.
What if I’m shortlisted but can’t make it to the showcase event in London, do I still have a chance to win some of the other prizes?
If you don’t showcase and pitch, then you can’t win any of the higher prizes.
Who can attend the final event?
The event is open to everyone. Sign up if you want to check out some great games, including some unreleased ones, meet the developers, vote and have some fun.
Can I sign up to attend the final event in London even if I’m not eligible to enter the contest?
Of course, everyone interested in indie games is welcome to join the final event.
Can a friend or family member join me at the event?
Yes, bring as many friends or family members as you like. Make sure they sign up, as preference will be given to pre-registered attendees.
Is the event family friendly?
Children and minors under 18 years old are welcome too. Minors must remain under adult responsibility and supervision. Be aware that some games may present inappropriate content for children.
Is the event pets friendly?
Unfortunately the event is held in a private art gallery where pets are not allowed.
What games will be showcased?
We will announce the titles in the second half of January, stay tuned!
What’s the easiest way to get there?
By Underground:
The gallery is 3-4 minutes walk from Sloane Square Underground (District and Circle lines) and 10-12 minutes' walk from Victoria (Victoria, District & Circle lines).
By Bus:
11,19,22,49,211,319 (King's Road), 11,137,211 (Lower Sloane Street).
By Train:
The nearest mainline railway station is Victoria. It is 10-12 minutes' walk from the gallery.
How accessible is the venue?
Assisted or ramp access is available at the gallery's main entrance. All floors have lifts and there is level access between the galleries on each floor. Wheelchairs are available upon request.
There are two blue badge disabled parking bays to the rear of the Gallery which can be accessed via Turk's Row off Lower Sloane Street. Booking well in advance is essential. To reserve a disabled parking bay or a wheelchair please telephone 0207 811 3085.
Can I arrive at any time?
Yes, drop by anytime after 16:00. If you want to visit the showcase and vote we recommend you get there as early as possible as voting will close at around 19:00. Pitching will start at 19:30 and at that time the showcase will pause.
