Explore ML Student Facilitators will facilitate Machine Learning workshops at their university and develop their facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.

Explore ML Academy is an event selected facilitators will be invited to in order to get trained in all course materials, facilitation skills, and more. 

Required - students are:

  • in the second, third or final year of their CS undergraduate degree (academic calendar 2019/2020)
  • programmers comfortable with data structures and algorithms

Preferred - students have:

  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • effective listening and questioning skills
  • a passion for teaching, facilitating, and/or presenting
  • previous teaching or facilitation experience
  • previous experience in working on Machine Learning

Responsibilities - student facilitators will:

  • facilitate at least 2 Machine Learning workshops at their campuses in one academic year
  • solve doubts and queries of the enrolled classroom students
  • share feedback, reports, ideas, and best practices with program team at Google and other facilitators 

Course materials cover a total of 3 tracks (beginner, intermediate, advanced) which can be delivered in weekly, daily, or weekend intensive sessions basis. It’s up to facilitators to determine which implementation works best with their academic calendars. We leave open to facilitators to choose what the best fit with academic calendars is.

The biggest motivation is the acquisition of knowledge skills that will be valuable for your future. Students who participate in the program will additionally:

  • Acquire foundational Machine Learning knowledge.
  • Build a network of like-minded, passionate students excited about applications of ML.
  • Receive an end of course participation certificate for those attending all live sessions.

Workshops are in-person, live sessions that consist of theoretical concepts and hands-on exercises the students will go over individually or in groups. Facilitators will introduce students to the objectives of the day and then help with Q&A and troubleshooting as needed.

Google will provide the curriculum and training resources for facilitators to facilitate workshops.

Currently, student facilitators will be selected via a mix faculty nominations and independent applications to the program.

Currently this program is under invitation-only for selected universities. Anyone is welcome to use our materials to acquire and share knowledge with fellow university students independently.   • Student: computer/laptop
  • Building: stable Internet connection 

Yes, students will receive an informal certificate of completion. However, Google will not provide verification of certificates to employers.

This Program is free for students and facilitators and sponsored by Google.
