Applying for the "Accelerate your Growth" initiative. Here’s what you should know.

“Accelerate your Growth” is an initiative that tasks start-ups and scale-ups to solve the marketing and ad tech challenges of tomorrow, further enhance their own product propositions and provide visionary solutions for Google’s powerful Ads APIs.

Google is calling startups and scale-ups across the Nordic region to apply to this challenge and submit your ideas around the marketing solutions you will build using Google Ads API. Google believes that Nordic tech companies are very well positioned globally to deliver the next generation marketing services by partnering up with Google. 

Google wants to outreach to the start-up ecosystem in the Nordics and communicate its offering for partners, highlighting existing success cases, fostering new partnerships and innovation via co-creation. Google wants to make it possible for everyone to thrive in the digital era. 

Google Channel Sales is a team within Google Global Marketing Solutions that partners up with a variety of businesses to deliver Google’s marketing solutions at scale, embracing marketing automation and making Google advertising easier to use.

Businesses that partner with Google can build new revenue streams and capitalize from their existing business customer base. Partners get dedicated support, advise on APIs scaling and platform, strategic guidance, accelerated go-to-market and access to new product betas, amongst other perks.   

Google Partners can be either be small start-ups operating in the ad tech vertical, as well as large scale ups and platform-businesses like Klarna, Etsy or Mailchimp.  

Google Ads API is open to anyone who wants to build new marketing solutions on top of it. To partner with Google, businesses need to follow a selection process and fulfill certain requirements which include joint commitments,  scoping a common opportunity, setting a product roadmap and go-to-market strategy amongst others.

Google’s partnership model provides the following pillars of support:

  • Strategic consulting - Around the value proposition, product offering, pricing, product packaging and operational setup 
  • Technical expertise - Guidance from our dedicated engineering team for  automating Google Ads towards the partner’s clients
  • Co-Marketing - Sales and account management training, partner events hosted by Google, co-branding initiatives, etc.
  • Product access - early access to Google beta products, access to exclusive product events, complete product feedback loops, etc.

  • The marketing solutions you will build using Google Ads API
  • The challenges that you will be solving for advertisers
  • The value you see in partnering with Google

Not many. You just need to be:

  1. A company registered in any of the Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland), regardless of where your business operates or your customers come from (ie you can be operating in India and having your customer base there, but if you are registered in Sweden, you are good to apply).
  2. Operative (ie. not at idea stage) with a publicly available product or service. 

The Google Ads API is an advanced feature that lets developers interact with and make changes to the Google Ads account they manage through applications they create. You can find more information here. 

Yes, all applications will receive a Google Ads voucher within 15 days of the application. The Google Ads voucher will be sent via email to the email address used in the application form.

You can obtain your developer token following the steps here.  

Applicants can submit their candidacies until the 15 January 2019. Google will review the applications and select the 3 best ideas by the 22 January 2019. The best ideas will be invited to present in the final event in Stockholm and pitch their ideas to a jury. The jury will then select the best idea and announce the final standings.

  1. Business opportunity (ad spend transacted via partner and activation potential)
  2. Existing applicant assets (ie customer base, data, geographic presence, business model, etc.)
  3. Value for advertisers (incremental improvements and value proposition for the applicants customer base) 

The 3 best ideaswill be fast-tracked to the Google partnership program. 

The jury for the final event will be composed of a Google representative, a representative from an existing Google Partner and a third juror (which is to be determined). The names of the jurors will be announced prior to the final event. 

The timeline is as follows:

  1. The Initiative will open for applications the 12 November 2018
  2. Applications close the 15 January 2019
  3. Applications will be reviewed from the 15 January to the 21 January 2019
  4. The best ideas will be selected on the 22 January 2019 and invited to present in the final event
  5. The final event will be held in Google's Stockholm office on the 30 January 2019 

The final event will be held in Google's Stockholm office on the 30 January 2019. The event is schedule to start at 17:30. 

All applicants to the Initiative are welcomed to join the final event. Google will extend private invitations to its business partners, clients and colleagues.
