Google strives to cultivate inclusive programs and events around the globe. We believe that diversity of perspectives and ideas leads to better discussions, decisions, and outcomes for everyone. We also aim to support local tech communities and partners and help foster connection and innovation at Sandbox events and beyond. Google Sandbox is designed to provide insights into work at Google through a closer look at our technology and culture, with a focus on bringing together Googlers and historically underrepresented communities in tech to connect and collaborate. There will also be recruiters available to speak with anyone interested in employment opportunities.

We believe that the potential of machine learning is so vast that every technical person should learn machine learning fundamentals.

While completing the free online Machine Learning Crash Course (MLCC) is not required prior to attending this Google Sandbox program, we highly recommend taking some time to go through it as it will provide a great foundation and the materials will not be covered in person.

MLCC is one of the most popular courses orginally created for Google engineers. Our engineering education team has delivered this course to more than 18,000 Googlers, and now you can take it too! The course develops intuition around fundamental machine learning concepts.

You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the events. Please note that this event is intended for participants local to the Seattle, Washington metro area. Participants outside of that area may apply and attend but would be responsible for any travel and accommodation costs.

While the Sandbox series has a dedicated focus on engaging people from communities and backgrounds that have been historically underrepresented in the tech industry, the event and application are open to everyone.

We will be accepting applications until July 25th. Every applicant will be notified of their application status on or before July 27th.

You're welcome to have your friend or +1 apply to attend the event using the form during the open application period. Please note that we tend to reach capacity with pre-registered applicants for events. If you would like to bring a friend or +1 who hasn't applied, they will be accommodated on a space-available basis on the day of the event. Admission is not guaranteed for walk-ins.
