In partnership with LGfL, the Google for Education team are hosting a series of virtual professional development workshops focused on using Google Workspace and Chromebooks in the classroom.

Summer Term 2021
Aimed at Teachers and teaching assistants. In this session you will explore how demonstration of skill or reflection videos can show a deeper understanding of a subject and give students and authentic way to demonstrate their learning.
When: Tuesday 15th June @ 4pm
Designed to help schools get the most from their investment in devices by exploring how teachers and students can unlock the full potential of a Chromebook.
When: Wednesday 23rd June @ 4pm
Aimed at teachers fairly new to using Google Workspace, this session focuses on the survey and quiz tool, Google Forms. This is a great starting point for teachers, teaching assistants and support staff as you can easily collect data, feedback or requests/suggestions from people using a single link.
For teachers, Google Forms allows you to create a self-marking quiz that can be sent individually or via Google classroom or other platforms to learners.

Designed for teachers, learning resource staff and teaching assistants working with students to access information and tools in a way that is comfortable for them.
When: Wednesday 14th July @ 4:45pm
Aimed at the busy teacher or administrator who wants to get organised and on top of communication. You will learn how to work with your emails and calendar in a more productive way, leaving time for other aspects of your work.

Join us to explore how Google Workspace is supporting educators and school leaders to communicate effectively, get time back and focus on the things that matter. We are demo'ing effective communication tools from Commenting in shared docs, to Forms and Sheets and how these can all be brought together with the help of Bukky, Zee and Sonia, who are all in schools using the tools to lead on Curriculum, Teaching and Learning and IT.

Aimed at teachers and teaching assistants who want to offer their students a toolkit for research and study skills. We will cover; the explore feature, Google Books, Google Scholar, third party apps (such as Quizlet) linked to classroom, audio learning, and mindmapping with docs add ons.

This session will explore the options available to teachers to make learning engaging and easy to access. Learn about; using Google Classroom and Google Meet to provide a simple and safe environment for students to engage with synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities, developing a hybrid approach you can use for effective learning now and enhance learning beyond COVID-19.
Aimed at teachers and teaching assistants working with children who have not used Google Classroom much or at all to manage learning in one place.
Your own Google Workspace for Education account may not be allowed to join our demo Classroom based on your school's settings, so you will have the option of using a demo account or be a student in the Classroom. You can also follow along and create a Classroom of your own in your own Google Workspace for Education account as we go through the content.

Aimed at Early Years and KS1 teachers, this webinar will specifically look at using Google Workspace with younger learners.
The session will start with an overview of the Google Workspace tools like Docs, Slides, Jamboard and Forms for use cases in the Early Years and KS1 classroom. This session will also look at using Google Classroom with younger learners. The challenge of every student logging in means Google Classroom takes some perseverance for young learners but we will look at examples of how teachers of Reception, Year 1 and 2 have been using Google Classroom through a pandemic for remote and hybrid learning.

This session looks at how schools are embedding digital tools in how they work. This will include; best practice examples from schools who have been using G Suite extensively for years, practical tips for building a professional development plan to grow teacher's confidence at selecting the right tools for learning and, hands-on examples of how Leadership can embed the tools into their work to model best practice.
Aimed at teachers and learning support, this session will give you a toolkit of assessment and feedback options available through Google Workspace. From in-built Google Classroom and Google Docs features, to third party tools that allow audio feedback to complement written feedback or where in-person feedback is not suitable or feasible.
Aimed at teachers and learning support who are relatively new to Google Workspace or need a refresher. This session will take you through Google Drive, the cloud based storage you can access anywhere, anytime from any device.
We will look at; how you can manage your own Drive, collaborate easily with others and share key documents, planning and resources. Collaborate in a Google Doc to see edits happen live, as well as exploring version history (an incredibly impactful tool to review learning as well as see who contributed what to your document).
We will also look at Slides to make sure you feel comfortable bringing existing resources in other formats into Google Drive and converting them to be collaborative where necessary.
Aimed at teachers and learning support, this session specifically looks at Google Drive collaboration and sharing through the lens of lesson planning.
By using Shared Drives as a year group or faculty team, you can provide easy access to learning resources, central curriculum templates and assignments whether you are working together or separately.
Take away some simple ideas to reduce your planning time and make sure everyone has the best resources at their fingertips.

Aimed at teachers and teaching assistants who are new to Google Sites. During this session we will explore how Google Sites can be used as a platform for students to showcase their work.
Harness creative learning ideas through Chrome. Explore Google for Education and third party tools that provide creative learning opportunities on Chrome.
In this session attendees will discover options for making learning creative on Chrome, access safe and secure creative tools from anywhere and how Chromebooks can make learning fun!
Office Staff
So much of our work revolves around our email and calendar, it's helpful to know all the features in Gmail and Calendar that can help us be productive, save us time and improve communication and collaboration between all the school's staff and community. In this session we'll take a tour of both tools, showing some useful settings and quick tips to help you get the most out of working in Google Workspace for Education.
Forms are so versatile in collecting information from students, parents or colleagues. In this session we'll dive into the different settings for external and internal use Forms.We will create 2 forms: a parent contact Form to collect messages from parents and a customer service Form to collect information from colleagues After we have created the Forms we will explore how we can view responses in different ways and carry out basic data manipulation in Sheets.

Working in Google Drive gives you the power to collaborate with your colleagues in real time - sharing documents, commenting on them and co-editing. When you're new to working in the cloud, the different levels of sharing permissions, the difference between a shared folder and a Shared Drive and so on can be confusing. In this session we will look at creating Docs, Slides and Sheets from Drive, and then focus on the different sharing options, best practice in Drive organisation and answer any questions you have to help you be confident in sharing from Drive!
Google Sheets is an important tool for office and admin staff as a way to record, sort and analyse data. If you're used to spreadsheets, but not to Google Sheets, this session can help you see just how easy it can be to get used to Google's spreadsheet tool. In this session you will learn how to use =importrange in sheets, apply conditional formatting, use data validation , set notifications for changes, use the explore tool for data investigation and use add-ons to generate merged letters, files or emails.
