Session Brief:
Education in India has been severely impacted by COVID-19 and the ensuing lockdown. The pandemic has ushered in a watershed moment for digital education in our country. In light of this we have our two keynote speakers sharing their views on what Learning looks like in a post-COVID world. How do they perceive the changes that we are seeing in education in these times? What do they think needs to be done to help students navigate these extraordinary times while improving educational outcomes for them?

Satya Raghavan will talk about how, with everything changing so rapidly around us in the world of learning and education, Educators, Teachers and Creators are in a unique place to "be the change they wish to see in the world".

Ashish Dhawan has in his role as a philanthropist, founder (Central Square Foundation) and co-founder (Ashoka University) engaged with stakeholders across the educational ecosystem of India, from governments & policy-makers to NGOs, schools and start-ups. He will share insights based on his extensive experience with efforts to improve the quality of education for students from different backgrounds.

Over the past few months, the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted education across the country making it critical for schools, teachers and students from different backgrounds, with varying degrees of digital access, to suddenly pivot to online learning. This panel brings together key representatives of three government organisations from Delhi, Kerala, and Maharashtra, to speak about the efforts being made to ensure students can receive good education without a break, in these extraordinary times.

The panel will shed more light on how education and online video can come together to cater to the needs of students and teachers in these times. We’d like to understand your insights on the ways in which the institutions you work with approached online learning before and after COVID. They will also share their observations around learning content on YouTube and how creators could improve learning outcomes for students. (Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session)
