Becky Anderson

Becky Anderson

Becky is a career Software Engineer, working on distributed systems and infrastructure at IBM, Microsoft, and now at Google on the Google Compute Engine (GCE) node software team. She loves building great people-systems as well as great computer-systems. She also loves singing a-capella (with the Google SoundBytes), and climbing and playing soccer with her 5-year-old.

Veneta Angelova

Veneta Angelova

Veneta is a software engineer on Google Maps for iOS. She joined Google 3.5 years ago. Originally born in Bulgaria, she moved to Seattle in her teens and has loved the area since. Went to university locally at UW (Go Huskies!) and graduated in computer science. Professionally Veneta has passion for iOS, accessibility and engineering excellence. Personally she cares deeply about diversity in tech and is involved in many of Google's internal groups and events that support this.

Megha Beri

Megha Beri

Meg was born and raised in India and moved to US, CA,15 years ago. Meg joined Google 4.8 years back as contract sourcer for Test Engineering, moved to full time SWE Sourcing, then into Recruiting and now a Global Staffing Lead supporting Communications group and SWE recruiter for Bay Area. Meg moved roles and teams within Google almost every year and that’s what she loves about Google, the internal mobility and potential for organic growth. When not working she loves to play with her 2 kids, 9 and 2 years of age.

Dina Betser

Dina Betser

Dina is a Senior Site Reliability Engineer based in Seattle working on the Control Plane for Google Compute Engine. She's been at Google for around 5 years, and previously worked as an SRE for Gmail, Calendar, and Ads. She's moved to Seattle earlier this summer, and has been enjoying the beautiful weather and picking wild berries.

Shirley Chung

Shirley Chung

Shirley is a Software Engineer working on Jump. Prior to joining Google full-time, she interned with the Storage Infrastructure team in NYC and the News team in Mountain View. Shirley's a recent graduate of the University of Southern California, where she studied Computer Science and Cognitive Science. She's excited to be back in Seattle and spending time outdoors.

Mario Consuegra

Mario Consuegra

Mario Consuegra is originally from Cuba, where he grew up until the age of 16. He lived in Miami for 10 years and attended university at Florida International University where he attained a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Computer Science. He is currently a Software Engineer at Google and has been working for 3 years in the Persistent Disk product, offering block storage for virtual machines in the Google Cloud Platform. For pass-time he likes to learn about martial arts, play x-box, travel with his wife, and take care of his two lovebirds.

Yoanna Dosouto

Yoanna Dosouto

Yoanna was born in Cuba and moved to the United States when she was 19 years old. Before joining Google and the Google Cloud Platform UX team Yoanna helped craft digital experiences for medical providers, commercial pilots, flight attendants, and customer service agents. As a User Experience Researcher she is fascinated by users. She believes that the making of a successful product is rooted on a team’s or company's ability to understand the needs of its user. When not at work, she loves traveling the world with her husband, watching good and bad TV series, and sleeping.

Crystal Gomes

Crystal Gomes

Crystal joined Google two months ago as a technical writer for Google Cloud Platform. She moved to Seattle in early 2016 for grad school, where she currently studies computer science at Northeastern University Seattle. Her undergraduate studies focused on English literature, psychology, philosophy and photography. Crystal enjoys doing anything at the intersection of programming, art, and writing. In her spare time, she trains her cat to walk on a leash.

George Guirgis

George Guirgis was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt and moved to Seattle when he was 14. George is married with two children, a 9 year old son and a 7 year old daughter. George has been at Google for 5 years, first as an engineering sourcer and now as an engineering recruiter for Seattle. What George loves about Google is the culture and specifically how we foster an inclusive environment where everyone can feel safe and respected.

Shannon Juzenas

Shannon Juzenas

Shannon grew up in Vancouver, Canada, interned twice for Google and loved it so much she moved down and became a SWE in Mountain View in 2013. After a stint on Google+ and Google Fit, she relocated up to the Kirkland office in 2017 and has been working on sharing apps for Android since then. Shannon did a double major in English and Computing Science and loves to read, travel, eat/cook/bake and play with her two very fluffy cats.

Ryan is a Senior Technical Writer at Google who leads a team responsible for several products for large advertising agencies. Ryan joined Google in New York City in 2008, and moved to Seattle in the beginning of 2016. In his time outside of work, Ryan enjoys playing music, traveling, and spending time with his wife and 2 year-old son.

Titir Kundu

Titir Kundu joined Google as an eng-resident and is now a software engineer. Titir works in the beautiful Kirkland office located in the pacific northwest for the Cloud eng-prod team (GCE-Eng Prod). During the times when she is not working, Titir likes to cook, hike and paint. Titir loves food and would love any local food suggestions you might have. Titir is looking forward to meeting everyone.

Sage LaTorra

Sage LaTorra

Sage LaTorra is a Senior Test Engineer at Google where he works across across a number of communication products including Allo and Duo. His work includes hermetic partial-app testing across platforms, improving feedback flows, and better bug management. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from New Mexico Tech. Outside of work he is the co-designer of an award-winning tabletop roleplaying game and generally incredibly nerdy.

Josh Lovejoy

Josh Lovejoy

Josh is a UX Designer at Google working at the intersection of Interaction Design, Machine Learning, and unconscious bias awareness. He believes that human-centered design thinking can change the world for the better; that by advocating for the benefits of starting with user need—instead of just technical opportunity—we can build tools that nourish, restore, and augment human capability. Josh works on AI product design and leads a cross-company working group on ML fairness.

Lawrence Lu

Lawrence Lu

Lawrence moved to Bellevue, WA when he was 2 years old, and has been living on the Eastside ever since (other than a brief 3-year stint in London). He joined Google 7 years ago as a Software Engineer, and during that time has worked on various teams in Ads, Cloud, and now Communications. He is currently the Tech Lead for the Duo Client teams. In his spare time he enjoys biking, climbing, playing badminton, cooking, and planning his next vacation.

James McClurkin

James McClurkin

James McLurkin is a Sr. Hardware Engineer at Google, and the lead hardware engineer on the AIY project. The project’s plan is to put AI into the maker’s DIY toolkit, to help more people solve hard, real-world problems. James’ plan for global change is to build things that help build more engineers. He is a recovering academic; as an Assistant Professor at Rice University his research was on distributed algorithms for multi-robot systems, which is software that produces complex group behaviors from the interactions of many simple individuals. He enjoys mountain biking, all things LEGO, and using his power tools.

Tasha is an Engineering Recruiter at Google. Originally from New York City, Tasha moved to Seattle a year and half ago to join Google. Prior to that Tasha worked at Goldman Sachs as a Program Manager for Diversity strategies. Outside of work, Tasha enjoys running, reading, fashion blogs and personal development.

Melanie Moranski

Melanie is originally from Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin(Go Badgers!) after which she moved to Houston, Texas to join Teach for America where she taught 5th grade! She then moved to the Bay Area to start her career in recruiting and is currently an Engineering Recruiter for Ads and GPI. While not at Google, she enjoys yoga, running, a great glass of wine.

Sam Riesland

Sam Riesland

Sam is a Software Engineer on Jump, a platform for creating VR video. He joined Google 7 years ago as part of YouTube in LA, after completing a Masters in Computer Vision at UCLA, but decided that the sun was too much and moved back to Seattle for the 3rd time, about 5 years ago. Sam is also an intrepid world traveler and former Peace Corps volunteer who enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, camping, and many other things.

Charlie Reis

Charlie Reis

Charlie is the Tech Lead for the Site Isolation team within Chrome Security. He works on Chrome's navigation logic and its multi-process model, after getting his PhD on web browser architecture at UW in 2009. His time in grad school convinced him to stay in Seattle, where he plays ultimate frisbee, hikes, kayaks, and skis with his wife and 3 year old daughter.

Naomi was born and raised in Atlanta and attended Georgia Tech. After graduation, she moved to Seattle to work for Google and has been here for 3 years now. She is a Software Engineer on Google Maps, working on how to improve the underlying data using smart algorithms and machine learning techniques. Outside of work, Naomi enjoys running, biking, and exploring the Pacific Northwest!

Lingda Serrano

Lingda Serrano

Lingda is a software engineer at Google. She's worked on products in Chrome, Cloud and most recently Communications. What she loves most about Google are the amazing Googlers she gets to work with every day. Before moving to Seattle, she spent many years in Texas and sometimes still misses the Texas sun and BBQ. When she's not at work, Lingda likes to cook and try new recipes for healthy meals.

Erika Shiroma

Erika Shiroma

Erika was born in Hawaii (where she goes to visit family often) and grew up in the Seattle area. She originally went to UW studying visual communication design but switched to computer science. Erika interned on the Google AdWords team in Mountain View before joining the Cloud Marketplace team in Seattle as a full-time software engineer last September. Outside of work, she loves to read, play board games, and travel (and has recently been studying Japanese and Spanish).

Rob Talamo

Rob Talamo

Rob is originally from Ohio and moved to Seattle to join Google over a year and a half ago as a recruiter. He now supports software engineer recruitment for Seattle/Kirkland. Rob loves to travel but he can’t believe no one told him how great the PNW is before moving here. Other than camping and exploring with his wife and dog any chance they get, rob also enjoys building furniture and burning through Netflix and HBO tv shows.

Charlae Washington

Charlaé Washington

Charlaé Washington is a diversity program manager at Google where she helps lead Google’s strategic efforts to create a more inclusive CS industry. Charlaé started at Google in 2008 working in SMB Global Customer Experience. From there she went on to help start a division within Google that empowers minority-owned businesses to succeed online. She went on to do marketing strategy for that division as well as brand marketing for Google’s policy team and Google Cloud, with some of our most well-known products, like Gmail and Google Docs. She has been at Google for 9 years and is a steadfast champion of intersectionality and inclusion. Charlaé is a very passionate and active Black Googler Network member, a proud Howard University alumna, and a native of Detroit, MI.

Kelly grew up in Redmond, WA before heading to University of Oregon for school (Go Ducks!). After growing up in the PNW she decided to make a leap and head to the sunny Bay Area. She is currently working to find amazing software engineering talent, with a passion and lens for making Google a more diverse and inclusive workplace each and every day. While not at adult disneyland (aka Google) she loves hiking, dogs, and spending time with family/friends.

Trevor Whately

Trevor Whately

Trevor is also an Engineering Recruiter for Google. Originally from Chicago, he moved to Mountain View 18 months ago, joining the Ads and Product Infrastructure teams. His passion for Alphabet’s inclusive culture, exciting products at scale, and pioneering values continues to grow each day. Healing up from an achilles tendon surgery, he can’t wait to ditch the walking boot and take another snowboarding trip to Whistler Blackcomb.

Eric Young

Eric Young

Eric Young joined Google in February, 2016 as the Vice President of Engineering overseeing our Supply Chain, Fulfillment and Customer Support Systems. Eric and his team develop the software which optimizes the supply chain, logistics and manufacturing of our compute infrastructure, consumer devices such as Chromecast and Android phones. He is also the Regional Leader for Google Washington overseeing our Seattle, Kirkland and Bothell campuses. Prior to Google, Eric spent 15 years at Amazon where we was most recently the VP of Engineering for their Retail Systems and previously as VP of Engineering for their Supply Chain and Customer Fulfillment Systems. Eric holds a BS, Computer Science & Mathematics from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.

Adrianna is a Seattle native and after spending her undergrad in sunny Arizona, she came back up to the Pacific Northwest to start her career in recruiting. After working for a couple large companies in the Seattle area, she joined Google last spring as an engineering recruiter. When she isn’t in the Kirkland office working, she enjoys spending time outdoors especially while on horseback with her horse Woody.
