Mentorship is a critical component of the Indie Games Accelerator. Participants of the program get access to experts from Google and leading game studios and institutions from around the world.

Mentorship sessions cover a broad variety of topics including technical development, design, gameplay, user retention, user acquisition, monetization, and team leadership.

Alex Kozachenko

CEO, HyperBeard

Alex Kozachenko started his career in gaming in the ad tech industry, helping monetize apps and games on Facebook and mobile. From there he joined a development consulting company where he helped build apps and websites for startups. Through that company he found his passion in gaming and met Antonio Uribe, cofounder and former Managing Director of HyperBeard. Together they built HyperBeard into the biggest mobile game developer and publisher in Mexico with over 100M downloads globally and massive organic hits like KleptoCats, Tsuki Adventure, Cat Spa & Adorable Home.


Angelo Lobo

Veteran Game Designer. Ex-Director of Game Design, Zynga

Angelo is a veteran game designer, with 18 years of experience. He spent 5 years at Zynga as the Design Director for games like FarmVille 2, FarmVille Country Escape and Empires & Allies. Angelo's main focus is casual and mid-core games for the mobile platform. Since 2018, he has been mentoring indie studios across India.


Asli Karabulut

Product Marketing Manager, Rovio Stockholm

With over 10+ years of experience, Asli transforms the way companies engage with their markets, clients, and employees on the digital & social media landscape. Asli focuses on casual games like Angry Birds 2. Alis led Netmarble EMEA’s global product marketing, user acquisition, social media marketing, event marketing, digital PR, business development, game localization and customer support functions for titles such as MARVEL Future Fight, Star Wars: Force Arena, Disney Magical Dice, Lineage 2: Revolution, Iron Throne, BTS World, King of Fighters and many more. She is passionate about the business of games, player focused game design, product marketing strategies, building great products and even greater communities.


Ashley Ringrose

Founder, SMG Studio

Founder of SMG Studio, Ash is dedicated to producing games with original and licenced IP for mobile, desktops & consoles. With the help of an amazing team, Ash is responsible for the strategic planning, marketing and overall running of the studio's slate of games, including Moving Out, SP!NG and RISK.


Augusto Petrone

Co-Founder & CPO, The Other Guys

Augusto Petrone is an entrepreneur with experience in design and in creating, developing, shipping and scaling tech products. He leads Product & Growth at The Other Guys, which he co-founded to create deep and immersive, but accessible narrative games. In 2020, The Other Guys was acquired by Gameloft, one of the leading game developers in the world. Augusto was also part of the founding team of Three Melons, a Buenos Aires based games studio that put Argentina in the global gaming industry map. Three Melons was acquired by Playdom (later acquired by Disney) in 2010.


David Yin 

CEO, Storms

With over 20 years of experience across strategic and commercial roles in the gaming and tech scene, David Yin is passionate about making mobile games more accessible globally. As the CEO of Storms, David leads an international team of exceptional leaders and industry veterans who are ready to transform the gaming ecosystem with social instant gaming platforms and hyper and hybrid-casual game publishing. David was most recently Head of Business Development for Google Play Apps and Games, where he acquired, drove, and built a pipeline of Android apps and games in APAC. He also led the Google Play Start-Up program, which involved him working closely with high-potential startups and leading VCs in the region.


Elena Sukhar

Vice-President, Strategic Partnerships, Game Insight

With over 10 years of experience in games business development, partner management and operations, Elena currently oversees Strategic Partnerships at Game Insight, acting as a liaison between developers, internal teams and key partners. Prior to Game Insight, Elena worked in advertising and education in PR & marketing roles.


Ezequiel Mottillo

Creative Director, etermax 

Ezequiel is a curious producer who loves to develop gaming experiences for global cultures. With 11 years of experience in games business development, advertising and live ops, he currently collaborates with devs, data-analysts, studio managers and strategic partners to connect audiences through games. At etermax, Ezequiel has led casual games to new surfaces: wearables, speakers, smart displays, auto and also had the opportunity to produce a TV game show and the animated series for families based on the hit mobile game Trivia Crack. Prior to etermax, he worked in media and visual arts as journalist, designer, and photographer.


Ed Chin

Co-Founder & CEO, Supersolid

Ed is co-founder and CEO at Supersolid, the award-winning mobile games studio behind Snake Rivals, Food Street and Home Street, among others. He was previously at Playfish and EA. Ed started in product management, and continues to be hands-on in game development.


Felipe Hayahida

Chief Marketing Officer, PlayKids 

Felipe Hayashida is CMO at PlayKids and COO at Afterverse, responsible for growth and monetization strategies for the companies' games and subscription products. As an Computer Engineer with over 10 years in tech, has had experiences as CMO at Tapps Games and as a consultant for firms both in technology and strategy.


Francisco Cuevas

General Manager for Latin America, Video Game Makers Academy

Paco is a software engineer, instructor and entrepreneur with close to 20 years of professional experience. Throughout his career he has had a leading role in the operation of companies such as North American Software, Extend Solutions, Microsoft, Unity, and Video Game Makers Academy. He is currently immersed in the field of virtual and augmented reality games supporting several Latin America entrepreneurs.


Gerson Da Silva 

Lead Game Designer & Project Manager, Ironhide Game Studio

Gerson Da Silva is Lead Game Designer and Project Manager at Ironhide Game Studio, where for more than 8 years he has developed games such as the award-winning Kingdom Rush saga and Iron Marines. He also has co-founded Totem Games, a social impact developing studio. Gerson teaches game design and prototyping at the Faculty of Fine Arts, as an international speaker he has given talks and workshops along Latam, Singapur, and the GDC China. Since 2019 he has been a mentor and speaker for the IGA.


Gwen Guo

Co-Founder & Creative Director, IMBA Interactive. Chairperson, Singapore Games Association

Gwen is a co-founder and creative director of IMBA Interactive, a game audio services studio based in Singapore. Gwen is also the chairperson of the Singapore Games Association, Singapore’s primary trade association aimed at supporting industry growth across the local ecosystem, and with immediate focus on the game development and esports sectors. Gwenalso chairs the Singapore Games Guild, a non-profit grassroots organisation which organises events for local game developers; contributes as Secretary of IGDA Singapore; and kickstarted Game Audio Singapore, a local game audio community aimed to provide knowledge and sharing among students and professionals.


Iris Kroonstuiver

Talent & Culture, GameHouse

Iris Kroonstuiver is a game industry veteran with over 20 years of experience. She started as a game journalist, eSports manager & event organiser and worked on many casual games as a producer. She now leads Talent & Culture at GameHouse, developer of casual story-driven free-to-play games like Delicious Bed & Breakfast and Delicious World. She is an expert in creating company culture where people are intrinsically motivated to do their best work in an environment where they can thrive.


Ivan Carrillo

Managing Partner, Joystick Ventures

Ivan Carrillo is an experienced Chief Technology Officer with a demonstrated history of working in the venture capital and private equity industry. He loves to build, not just software, but teams and companies. He has seen first hand the rise of the VC industry in Mexico and how a strong entrepreneur community can improve a country, a company and people.


Jason Schklar

Co-Founder & Chief Game Consultant, UX is Fine!

Jason is a 20 year game dev vet and is currently cofounder and Chief Game Consultant at UX is Fine! where he brings a mix of UX, product, and game design expertise to their clients. He helps teams find the fun, improve the player experience, and drive funnel, engagement, retention, and monetization KPIs. Jason has spent half his career as a consultant and the other half a studio leader at companies like Amazon, Disney, Microsoft, and Zynga. He’s trusted and respected by his industry peers and brings honesty and humor to those looking to make better games and grow their network.


Joshua Nilson

CEO & Co-Founder, East Side Games

With over 20 years in games and tech, the East Side Games (ESG) co-founder and GM is continuing to drive the business and culture at ESG. Under his leadership, ESG was one of Pocket Gamers’ 2020 Top 50 Mobile Game Makers, Globe and Mail Top 400 Canada’s Top Growing Companies, and the winner in the first ever BC Business “Business of Good Awards” in the Indigenous Prosperity category. ESG has launched several highly successful games including Trailer Park Boys: Greasy Money; It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: The Gang Goes Mobile; Dragon Up: Idle Adventure, The Goldbergs: Back to the 80s; and Archer: Danger Phone! ESG has also just announced RuPaul’s Drag Race: The Mobile Game launching in 2021. In 2021, ESG also joined the LEAF mobile inc group (TSX:LEAF), Canada’s largest mobile game studio listed.

For the last 8 years Joline has been building strong partnerships with the App Stores for the GameHouse Original Stories games like Delicious World and Delicious Bed & Breakfast. She does this with a lot of passion, dedication and overall fun! With excellent relationship management skills and a background in marketing, she knows how to build successful partnerships.


Lucy Hoffman

Co-Founder & COO, Carry1st

Lucy Hoffman is the Co-Founder and COO of Carry1st, Africa's leading mobile games publisher. Carry1st works with international studios to help them access consumers across Africa leveraging local distribution, embedded payments, and their vibrant community of gamers. Lucy has spent the past decade working with founders to help them realize their vision. Prior to founding Carry1st, she was Chief of Staff at the African Leadership Academy and Head of Operations at Nexii. She started her career at Morgan Stanley in New York. Lucy graduated from Dartmouth College.


Mark Panelo

VP of Business Development, Wildlife Studios

As Vice President of Business Development at Wildlife Studios, Mark Panelo is responsible for sourcing, managing, and growing their strategic partnerships, which includes platforms and licensors. In addition to maximizing visibility of Wildlife's games such as Tennis Clash and Zooba on Google Play and other distribution channels, Mark and his team evaluates and evangelizes new platform products and services to the organization. Previously, he led the Business Development team at Kabam where he was a key contributor to the successful launches of multiple AAA licensed games, including Marvel Contest of Champions, Transformers Forged to Fight, and Star Wars Uprising.


Mark Skaggs

Gaming Expert. Ex-Zynga & EA. 

Mark is an award-winning game developer known for his track record of creating the worldwide phenomena “FarmVille” and “CityVille” on Facebook(300+ million players), mobile hits with 30 million downloads as well as successful console and PCs games selling over 16 million copies at retail. With a career spanning more than 25 years, three AIAS awards, four console transitions, Mark is also known for creating multi-million selling RTS games.


Mohsin (Mozzy) Ahmed

Executive Producer, Rovio Entertainment Corporation

Mohsin AKA Mozzy is the EP at Rovio Stockholm, leading the New Games initiative at the studio. He is an avid Fortnite player and loves playing Minecraft with his 7yo daughter. He has been in the games industry for around 11+ years and has worked with companies like EA, Zynga, Glu, MegaZebra. With a strong product background he has supported game teams and has driven business goals for games like CityVille HM, MafiaWars, Deer Hunter Games, Angry Birds Evolution etc.


Noah Falstein 

Owner, The Inspiracy. Ex-Chief Game Designer, Google

As a professional game developer since 1980, Noah has a wide variety of experiences. He is primarily a game designer/producer and has also worked as a programmer, writer, creative director and more. Noah is known for designing some iconic LucasArts adventure games, being a pioneer in Serious Games and for having worked as Google's Chief Game Designer. He is recently known to have designed games for health/Neurogaming.


Nour Khrais

Founder and CEO, Maysalward

Nour Khrais is a business professional with over 21 years of experience in multinational software and content companies in Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Qatar, and France. In 2003, he founded Maysalward, the first mobile gaming company in the Middle East, developing and publishing original games for the Middle East market. Developing the First Arabic Mobile Game in 2004, his startup has created high-quality mobile games with millions of downloads and a hundred thousand daily active users enjoying the Free to Play games it's offering. In 2017 Khrais was awarded the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the Third Degree Medal, and was a board member on the King Abdullah Fund for Development (KAFD) board of trustees between Nov 2018 - 2020.


Oliver Birch

Director of Marketing, Hothead Games

Oliver brings more than 17 years of marketing experience to his role, seven of those focused on games. He has worked with top software publishers and developers in North America and Europe; managed advertising networks, media agencies, creative supplier and platform relationships; and brought new mobile, console and PC products to market with chart-topping success. Before joining Hothead, Oliver set up and managed an agency that marketed downloadable games for global clients including EA, SEGA, and Paramount Digital Entertainment. He says he’s from England, but we’re pretty sure he’s making that accent up.


Phylicia Koh

Phylicia is an investor at Play Ventures, the leading early stage, global gaming VC fund. Prior to Play Ventures, she has worked with gaming startups like Mighty Bear Games and has over 9 years experience leading marketing andS growth at startups and organisations like the Singapore Economic Development Board.


Poornima Seetharaman

Director of Design, Zynga

Poornima has been part of the gaming industry for over 15 years and essayed roles varying from Game Designer to Producer to Studio head and Entrepreneur. She has been part of companies like Indiagames (Disney India), Jumpstart, GSN Games etc. She is currently a Director of Design at Zynga. She has worked on franchises like BioShock Mobile, How to Train your Dragons, Neopets, and FarmVille 2: Country Escape to name a few. She is a Women in Games Ambassador and also a Hall of Fame Inductee at the Global WIG Awards 2020, making her the first Indian game developer to receive such an honour.


Roki Soeharyo

CEO, Touchten Games

Roki is a lifelong gamer with 12 years of experience in leading teams of mobile game experts and driving key strategic partnerships in developing casual mobile games for women. As a pioneer in Indonesia’s game industry, Touchten started out as a 3 person indie studio and grew into an award-winning game developer. Touchten is the Winner of Google Play Indonesia Games Contest, and is the recipient of the Forbes Indonesia Rising Global Stars Award.


Rami Ismail

Industry ambassador @ Rami Ismail 

Rami Ismail is a Dutch-Egyptian independent games & tool developer with over 20 titles across PC, console, web, and mobile. The co-founder of the influential now-retired indie games studio Vlambeer, Rami worked on award-winning and genre-defining games such as Ridiculous Fishing and Nuclear Throne. His development of tools like the industry-standard, his prolific & popular public speaking, and highly-regarded consultancy and insights have helped shape industry opportunities for game communities & independent game developers worldwide. Rami continues to advocate the creation of a fairer and more equal industry for developers anywhere through his work at His versatility and work resulted in him receiving a wide range of recognition, including the Game Developers Choice Ambassador Award, the IndieCade Game Changer Award, and a Forbes 30 Under 30 nomination.


Simon Hade

Co-Founder and COO, Space Ape Games

Simon is co-founder & COO of Space Ape Games, an award winning mobile gaming company founded in 2012 and based in London. Space Ape's games have been played by over 75m people, generated over $250m revenue and the company joined Supercell, makers of Clash of Clans and Brawl Stars, by way of majority acquisition in 2017. Simon has extensive experience in free to play product management, marketing, operations, fundraising and angel investing. Prior to starting Space Ape he worked at Playfish (acquired by EA) and was an early employee at Skype.


Sam Yang

Director of Product Management, goGame

Sam has 12 years of Games Product Management experience across PC, Console & Mobile Games, servicing players in North America, Europe, China, Japan and SouthEast Asia. Having contributed to titles like Dragonica Mobile, Need for Speed, FIFA, Tetris Monsters, Digimon Heroes, PolitiCats and Clicker Heroes, he is familiar with game mechanics, design and monetization models for both casual and mid-core titles.Sam is a part of goGame Publishing, and we work together with both indie developers (funding/marketing support) and larger publishers (white label services) to bring fun games to audiences all over the world. Sam’s main expertise falls in user retention, user acquisition, monetization, and team leadership.


Ulas Karademir 

VP, Production, Unity Technologies

I am Ulas Karademir, currently working as the Vice President of Internal Productions at Unity. I have been leading several teams at Unity Technologies since 2014. Core Technology, Graphics, Operation. Some of the work includes the core foundation, kernel, core systems, release management, Lighting, Graphics Foundation, Test centers, operations, and building the future of Unity with Data-Oriented Tech Stack. Previously, I worked at Better Collective as Product Development Director where I managed the Product portfolio, prior to that I worked at award-winning AAA studio, IO Interactive as the technical producer for Hitman series and Glacier 2 game engine for several years. I have been living in Copenhagen since 2002.


Vanessa Rouhani

Senior Vice President, Publishing & Product Marketing, Jam City

Vanessa Rouhani is the Senior Vice President of Publishing at leading mobile entertainment studio, Jam City. In this position, she is responsible for managing best-in-class relationships with key platform partners and leading brand strategy and product marketing across Jam City’s portfolio of games. In addition to gaining visibility for Jam City games on the App Store and Google Play, Vanessa and her team evaluate and evangelize new platform products and services for the organization, ensuring Jam City teams are educated on the latest platform policies, tools, and best practices. Prior to joining Jam City, Vanessa served on the Mobile Publishing team at global video game publisher, Electronic Arts. During her 12-year tenure, she contributed to the successful launch of over 35 highly rated original and licensed games, including Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, The Simpsons Tapped Out, FIFA, and more.


Vlad Kuligin

Senior Publishing Producer, M&A, Belka Games

Vlad Kuligin is an Executive Publishing Producer in Belka games. With 10 years of experience in game development, he took part in a lot of projects as a producer, project manager and head of product. He had key roles in Playrix (in award-winning Gardenscapes) and Playgendary.


Ziv Kitaro

Director of Product Management, Whaleapp

Ziv Kitaro has been working in the mobile and games arena for over fifteen years, holding both executive and creative titles. Ziv has led studios at Plarium Global and Playtika and has consulted companies like 888 Holdings. He has been a Product Manager, Creative Director, and Game Designer; and has led over a dozen games and entertainment projects from concept to launch. Ziv has had the privilege of guiding the day-to-day operations of small and large teams within startups and established companies, Ziv's goal is to create exceptional products and games that bring joy and better people's lives.



Mark Mandel

Developer Advocate, Google

Mark Mandel is a Developer Advocate for Google Cloud for Games and founder of the open source, multiplayer dedicated game server scaling project Agones. Hailing from Australia, but now living in San Francisco, Mark also spends his time being a GDC Advisor for the Online Game Technology Summit, playing with his dog and practicing too many martial arts.


Rachel Cheung

Business Development, Apps and Games, Google Play

Rachel partners with Taiwan developers to help them launch successfully on Google Play and optimize their mobile business strategy. She also supports global developers that enter the Taiwan market. She is passionate in working with indie developers and has co-hosted G-Player One (Google indies incubator in Taiwan) for the last 3 years. Prior to joining the Google Play team, Rachel has worked on Google's AdMob for over 2 years. Originally from Hong Kong, she has been working in Taipei for the last 4 years. Rachel is currently part of the Business Development, Games and Apps' team in Google Play Taiwan.


Serena Shih

Strategic Partnership Manager, Google Play

Serena is a Strategic Partnership Manager on the Google Play Partnerships Team. For the past 6 years, she worked with Chinese developers to drive their overseas business expansion, and now brings her experience to Western Europe, where she focuses on helping developers grow their businesses on Google Play through overseas and domestic distribution, enrichment of product features, and in-app monetization.
