To take part in Google’s Tech Elevate Program (“Program”), applicants must be industry professionals, with 2+ years’ work experience in a technical field.

Google employees are not eligible to apply.

Persons who are (i) residents of embargoed countries, (ii) ordinarily resident in embargoed countries, or (iii) otherwise prohibited by applicable export controls and sanctions programs are not eligible to apply for this program.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older as of May 4, 2020

To enter applicants are required to complete the online application form, online coding assignment, and provide any supplementary information as may be requested by Google from time to time.

The application process will open on May 4, 2020, 9:00am CET and will close on May 18, 2020, 11:59pm CET (“Application Deadline”). Google may modify the Application Deadline date by posting an informational notice on the Program website. You are responsible for frequently reviewing Program details on the Program website.

By the Application Deadline, applicants must complete and submit the following application items in the following order in order to be considered for the Program:

  1. The online application form at www.techelevate-emea.com
  2. The coding assignment, which is accessible via a third party platform. The link to this assignment will be shared with you via email within 24 hours of you submitting your online application form (detailed above).

Both of these items must be completed by the Application Deadline for your application to be considered complete. Google will review only completed applications for the Program 

Each application will be evaluated and scored based on the following criteria:

  • Relevant industry experience,
  • Demonstration of programming skills in Java or C++ and ability to read Python, and
  • Completion of both the application form and coding assignment as described on the Tech Elevate program site (www.techelevate-emea.com) (the “Criteria”).

Each eligible applicant’s (determined in accordance with Section 1 (Eligibility) above) application materials will be reviewed by Google in accordance with the Criteria by an internal panel of Google team members. The best applications, constituting no more than 200 (as assessed and determined by the panel of Google team members in their sole discretion against the Criteria), will be accepted to participate in the program. Successful applicants will receive a notification no later than May 20, 2020  at the email address provided at the time of application. Notification is subject to verification of eligibility. 

Applicants agree that any Personal Information collected in connection with the online application form may be used by Google for purposes of processing applications for the Program and analysis of Program productivity. Additionally, applicants agree that this Personal Information may be shared with Google’s partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, successors, licensees and assigns for the purposes of organising and administering the program. The term “Personal Information” as used herein means first name, surname, address, email address and any other information applicants provide to Google in connection with the application. All Personal Information that is collected from the applicant is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy, located at: http://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/. Applicants acknowledge that Google may transfer any of the applicant’s Personal Information outside of the European Economic Area. Applicants and program participants can request to have their application data deleted by emailing techelevate-emea@google.com.

Applicants understand that they may be contacted by Google in relation to full-time job opportunities and other hiring programs should they opt-in to receive such communications.

Successful applicants (“Participants”) agree that Google may, from time to time, use their first name in Google’s promotional materials relating to future Google Tech Elevate EMEA programs.

Applicants understand that the first and last name connected to the Google Account they used to apply to the Program will be visible to other Participants and Googlers in the Google Classroom platform. If they wish to use a different Google Account to access Google Classroom then they should email the Program team at techelevate-emea@google.com. 

Under no circumstances shall the submission of a Program application or the participation in the Program be construed as an offer or contract of employment with Google. Applicants acknowledge that they submit their application voluntarily and not in confidence or in trust.

Applicants acknowledge that no confidential, fiduciary, agency or other relationship or implied-in-fact contract now exists between applicant and Google and that no such relationship is established by applicants’ acceptance of these terms and conditions. 

The best applications, as assessed in accordance with the Criteria above, shall be selected to participate in the Program.

The Program will run from May 25, 2020, to July 6, 2020. The Program will take place online only and Participants must have access to the Internet in order to take part.

  • Classroom. No later than 4 days before the start of the Program, Participants will receive an invitation email to the Gmail account that they used to apply to the Program with information on how to log in to the Google Classroom platform. All weekly video trainings, online resources, and self-study assignments will be shared with participants weekly via Classroom. Participants will also be able to communicate with each other and with Googlers via Classroom.
    • Participant's name (first, last) will be pulled directly from the Google Account associated with their Gmail address. If users wish to use a different Gmail Account to access Classroom then they should email the Program team at techelevate-emea@google.com.
  • Technical challenges. Participants will be asked to use a third party platform to submit assignments during the program. Participants will create their own account with this third party platform and are subject to the platform’s terms of service and privacy policy. 

Google may occasionally, and at its sole discretion, give away Google-branded objects or Google-related products (“Goodies”) to Participants as part of their participation in the Program. Recipients of Goodies are responsible for ensuring that they comply with any applicable tax laws and filing requirements (if any).
